“Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.” -John 17:3
As Disciples of Christ, we have no mandatory creeds that shape our belief.
We simply affirm that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God, who offers saving grace to all who accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
We believe the Bible is God’s revelation to us and that it is authoritative in matters of faith. The focus of our belief is the person, life, teachings and mission of Jesus Christ. While we are united in our common belief that Jesus is the Christ, we may differ widely in our interpretation of scripture. Our membership is guided by the the motto, “In essentials – unity; in non-essentials – liberty; in all things – charity.”
Communion, the Lord’s Supper, is celebrated weekly in worship. Our communion service is open which means all who believe Jesus is the Christ, are invited to join us – regardless of denomination affiliation.
We practice a baptism by immersion at an age when a person can make a statement of his or her faith. We also honor other baptism traditions.
